I've always wanted to have an intelligent answering machine that did more than just play a message and then record a message. SMSWriter is written in Java using the Java Communication API (javax.comm) and requires at least Java 2 Standard Edition (JDK or JRE) version 1.2. This application has been tested successfully on Windows ME, NT 4.0, 2000, XP and Linux, but it should also work on Solaris.

I think this service is quite convenient as the cost of an SMS is generally cheaper than average rates. You can alse set the number of the sender so that the receiver can\'t see any difference between an SMS sent from this service and one sent from your mobile.
